Change of Guards ceremonies held at Quaid, Iqbal’s mausoleums

KARACHI / LAHORE: On the occasion of 52nd Defence Day, Change of Guards ceremonies were gracefully held at the mausoleums of Pakistan’s founding father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the Poet of the East Allama Iqbal to pay them homage.

A contingent of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) took over guard duties at Quaid’s Mausoleum in Karachi. Air Vice Marshal Imran Khalid was the chief guest, who laid a wreath of flowers and offered Fateha at the grave.

Pakistan Rangers contingent assumed guard duties at Iqbal’s Mausoleum in Lahore. Lahore Garrison Commander Major General Muhammad Amir laid a floral wreath and offered fateha at the tomb.

Earlier, the day was dawned with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21 in the provincial capitals while special prayers for the safety and prosperity of the country were also offered at the time of Fajr.
