Iraqi Airways welcomed its first Boeing 737MAX at Baghdad, after its delivery flight from Seattle-Boeing Field (WA). The aircraft is a B737-8 and is registered as YI-ASL (65405).
This MAX8 is the first of six the airline is planning to take delivery of this year. Iraqi Airways also plans to take delivery of ten MAX10s between 2024 and 2027 and has open orders with Boeing for nine B787-8s and one B787-9, which are planned for delivery from 2026.
With the delivery of this B737-8, Iraqi Airways’s fleet now consists of 37 aircraft; five Airbus A220-300s, three A320s, two A321s, one A330-200, one B737-700, fourteen B737-800s, one B737-8, two B747-400s, one B767-300ER, and one B777-200LR.
