A Russian T-90A tank captured by Ukrainian armed forces has made its way to the United States. The Russians reportedly lost the tank last year. Photographs featuring the combat vehicle was published on Reddit. It shows the tank being placed on a platform designed for transporting equipment.

According to the comments on the picture, the trophy Russian T-90A model of 2004 was photographed in the state of Louisiana in the U.S. As per information portal “Tysk“, this tank belonged to the 27th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

This tank was captured by the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on September 25, 2022. The capture happened in the village of Kurylivka, Kupiansk district of the Kharkiv region.

The conditions of the Russian tank arriving in the U.S. are currently unknown. It could be displayed at defense exhibitions held to showcase Russian weapons used in Ukraine War. The Ukrainian side holds similar exhibitions of the destroyed weapons in various European countries, and now it seems that a similar display will also be presented in the U.S.

The T-90A tank is a modernization of the Soviet-made T-72B tanks. Its updates are aimed at significantly improving all combat characteristics of the tank. Serial modification of the T-90 under index A had been produced between 2004 and 2011. The tank was equipped with a B-92S2 engine with a capacity of 1000 hp, an improved welded turret of increased stability instead of a cast one, and a 2A46M-5 gun.

The Ukrainian military has published a video featuring a detailed review of the T-90A, one of the main battle tanks of the Russian army. Ukrainian servicemen captured the combat vehicle.
