Argentina’s plans to acquire the Sino-Pakistani JF-17 fighter is progressing smoothly, as Argentina’s Ambassador to China met officials from CATIC this month to formulate a “comprehensive defense strategy between the Argentine Government and China”. Argentina wishes to procure 10 JF-17C and 2 JF-17D Block III aircraft from China and Pakistan.
China’s state-owned export focused company , CATIC is handling the negotiations for state loans to the Argentine government to procure the 12 fighters. Manufacturing of the fighters will take place in Pakistan Aeronautical Complex.
Argentina’s ambassador maintained that the Pakistan-China JF-17 project “is historic” and “transcendental” for his country and its defense system.
