ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Air Force was developed on modern lines as it not only played its imperative role in operations Raad-ul-Fisaad and Zarab-i- Azab but also upgraded its fleet in 2017. Pakistan Air Force is considered the backbone of the country’s defence. PAF inflicted heavy losses to the terrorists in the operations Raad-ul-Fisaad and Zarb-i-Azab.
A new model of JF-17 thunder was inducted in PAF during 2017 and upgraded and prepared a prototype of JF-17 Thunder with the cooperation of China with a space of two pilots and its design was changed on modern lines.
During this year the head of Air Force Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman was accorded “Turkish Armed Forces Legend of Merit” award for progress in defence relations and Air Power Centre for Excellence was established and anti-terrorism two week exercises ACES MEET were held between the two countries. Contingents of Saudi Royal Air Force and Turkish Air Force took part in the exercises whereas 10 countries participated as observers.
The exercises were aimed at to ensure the preparedness of the air forces against terrorism and techniques of war games. In Shaheen Six war games in China, Pakistan air force has displayed its air powers. The war games which continued for 3 weeks Pakistan air force and Peoples Liberation Army air force with modern planes and weapons participated.
In 2017 in the context of CPEC Pakistan and China Air Forces with PAF F-7PG and Chinese J-10 arranged a joint air show at PAF Base Samungli.
The world focused on the air show of Pakistani modern planes. This year in Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamara has laid the foundation stones of Aviation City and Air University, Aerospace and Aviation Complex. Of this important wing is Aviation Research and Indigenization and Development Institute.
